What We Do
Hospitality
Making all Rancho community members feel welcomed, appreciated, and informed is an integral part of our work. We host social events like coffees and park playdates to connect. We also help welcome TK and Kinder families in collaboration with the school through welcome days.
To recognize our wonderful teachers and staff, we host a staff lunch in the fall and we spearhead the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week each spring.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We are committed to ensuring every child feels included at Rancho Romero. Some of our wonderful events from our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) include our Bullying Prevention Week, Words Matter Week, and our Multicultural Festival. For more information about our DEIC efforts, and to volunteer to help, please visit our DEIC webpage.
Programs
Below are just some of the programs we offer throughout the year. Details for each of these, and many more, will be posted in the weekly Roadrunner newsletter from our Principal. Be sure to stay informed by reading it in your inbox each week!
• Ice Cream Social (Fall)
• Talent Show (Spring)
• Family Fun Nights (Year Round)
• Multicultural Festival (Spring)
• Carnival (End of School Year)
Community Outreach
Rancho reaches out to the local community in many ways. Many of those efforts are led by the Student Council, and others are led through our PTA.
The Sister School philanthropic program is a district-wide PTA-sponsored program benefitting the students of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) by fostering civic responsibility, enhancing community engagement, promoting volunteerism, and teaching the joy of helping others in need.
Rancho partners with Coronado Elementary School in Richmond, CA by coordinating various programs for student and parent volunteers, some of which include: Thanksgiving Meal Kit Assembly, the Warm Coat Drive, and our School Supplies Drive.
Additionally, Rancho partners with Pledge To Humanity which empowers children and young adults to volunteer in efforts that improve the quality of life for other children, families, and seniors in need through local and global initiatives.
Several volunteer opportunities will occur throughout the year. To start a PTH group of your own, contact Pledge to Humanity directly.
Health and Wellness
Ensuring Rancho is a healthy and safe place to be is a priority. Whether it's nutrition, the environment, or healthy living, there's a lot to be learned!
Our "Harvest of the Month" program engages family volunteers to teach students about healthy foods by making and sharing yummy recipes.
Each fall, we also support the district's initiative of "Red Ribbon Week" teaching children about being healthy and safe.
