PTA

Our Mission

The Rancho Romero PTA aims to positively impact the lives of ALL children and families in the Rancho school community.

We organize ways for parents/caregivers to engage in the school community, whether that means volunteering in classrooms, leading and engaging in events and initiatives, or providing perspective, feedback, advocacy, and collaboration with the school and teachers/staff. Our Rancho PTA ensures that the community and social/emotional experience for families and children is a positive one.

Our mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

PTA Values

Collaboration

We will work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to broaden and enhance our ability to serve and advocate for all children and families.

Commitment

We are dedicated to children’s educational success, health, and well-being through strong family and community engagement, while remaining accountable to the principles upon which our association was founded.

Diversity

We acknowledge the potential of everyone without regard, including but not limited to: age, culture, economic status, educational background, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, legal status, marital status, mental ability, national origin, organizational position, parental status, physical ability, political philosophy, race, religion, sexual orientation, and work experience.

Respect

We value the individual contributions of members, employees, volunteers, and partners as we work collaboratively to achieve our association’s goals.

Accountability

All members, employees, volunteers, and partners have a shared responsibility to align their efforts toward the achievement of our association’s strategic initiatives.

The Big Picture

Rancho's PTA is just one unit within the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs (the group of all of the PTAs in the SRVUSD school district). This is part of a larger PTA group for the County called the 32nd District PTA, the state of California PTA called "CAPTA", and the National PTA.

PTA Membership

When you purchase a PTA Family Membership, you spend $40 for the entire year. This supports the events, initiatives, and advocacy work being done at the school, within the SRVUSD district through the SRV Council of PTAs, and beyond. With your membership, you enjoy FREE admission to many of our PTA-sponsored events including family fun nights, socials, the multicultural festival, and more!

At the close of fall registration, we will have a list of all families who purchased a "family membership" and are considered our Rancho PTA Association members.

You can purchase a family membership during the online registration process at the beginning of the school year.

If you miss that window, don't worry! You can always purchase your PTA Membership through the Future Fund Store.

Below are examples of just some of the things we provide:

  • Ice Cream Social
  • End-of-year Carnival
  • Talent Show
  • Red Ribbon Week
  • Words Matter Week
  • Multicultural Festival
  • Harvest of the Month
  • Rancho Giving Nights
  • Noontime Sports at Recess
  • Welcome Back and Principal's Coffees
  • Yearbook

As a PTA member, you also enjoy these benefits when using your PTA membership card at local businesses.

You can obtain your membership card by going to the school office, opening the "PTA Box" in the cabinet, finding the folder labeled "Membership" and taking one of the cards. Fill it out and enjoy! Our National PTA ID number is: 00008516 and our CA State PTA number is: 2747

Bylaws

Our PTA bylaws designate our roles and responsibilities and help us engage with our community.

Funding

We like to focus our efforts on enhancing the experience of the school community and organizing the participation of parents and families instead of being seen as a large fundraising entity. The Rancho PTA hosts many events throughout the year that are free to families.

Some of the ways we raise funds to cover our costs include:

  • Family Memberships
  • Yearbooks
  • Dine Out For Rancho Events
  • Run for Education

To view our detailed budget, please come to one of our PTA Association meetings!

Any questions about the budget, money, and PTA should be directed to our PTA President at: president@ranchoromero.org

The Rancho PTA is an affiliate under CA PTA’s Letter of Determination and 501(c)3 registration. As an SRVCPTA unit, we have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status under CAPTA’s group exemption. The group exemption number 0646 (needed for the 990 filing).

How is the PTA Different From Ed Fund and SSC?

The RREF (Rancho Romero Education Fund) raises money, and the SSC (School Site Council) makes recommendations for how funds are spent. The PTA partners with RREF and SSC to enhance the sense of community at Rancho.
