Attendance Procedures

Student Absences

To report a Full or Partial Day absence call:
925-855-5799

Current Board Policy regarding absences states "It shall be the responsibility of the parent and student to establish the nature of the absence to the satisfaction of the principal or designee. All absences which are not cleared within two (2) days after a student's return to school shall be recorded as unexcused."

If a student is marked absent from class but the office is not notified, the following steps will be taken to communicate to parents:
1. Parents will receive an “Attendance Safety Message” email by 10 AM if the school has not been able to resolve a student absence by that time.
2. If a student absence is still unresolved by the end of the day, an additional attendance message will be sent via email and phone.
3. If an absence is left unresolved after three days, a CUT will be recorded.

Student Illness
Parents or Guardian:  If you are calling your student out of school due to illness, please briefly detail symptoms of illness on the attendance line. If any of the symptoms described are in the daily attestation, refer to the COVID Decision Tree for next steps. If you choose not to leave illness details, you will receive a call from the attendance office asking for more information.  It is our responsibility to maintain the health and safety of our school community and we ask for your cooperation. Your student’s private health information will not be shared beyond administrative or nursing staff.

Students Arriving Late
Students arriving to school after the start of the school day must be signed in in the school office by a parent or guardian.

Students Leaving Early
If your child will be leaving campus during the school day, please email your child's teacher and the office with the date, time, and reason for leaving.
When arriving on campus to pick your child up, please come into the office and sign-out your child.  Your child will then be called out of class.
